Survey about EU-India Cooperation
Together with stakeholders, we have selected a set of R&D recommendations, that are considered to be important for both EU and India, and could be the subject of common EU - India research programs. The recommendations are grouped in four major categories, being (1) biomass production, (2) by-products/waste, (3) biorefineries and (4) policy, market, products.
In order to select 3 key-R&D recommendations and 1 key- policy, product & market recommendation, we have prepared a survey that lists the currently selected R&D recommendations for each of the 4 categories. We would appreciate very much if you could indicate to us which R&D recommendations you consider the most important for the EU-India collaboration in the field of bio-economy. Based on the results of this survey and the additional inputs of the different stakeholders, we will propose the key R&D recommendations to the EC and DBT for future common R&D in the field of bio-economy.
In order to being able to process the results afterwards, we also ask you in this survey some identification of yourself and your company/institute. This information will only be used for statistical analysis. Individual results of the enquiry will not be shared outside the project partners.

Additional information about SAHYOG
The objective of the project SAHYOG (Strengthening Networking on Biomass Research and Biowaste Conversion – Biotechnology for Europe India Integration) is to actively and effectively link research activities implemented within EU research programmes and related programmes by Indian national institutions. Targeted research areas concern biotechnological approaches for biomaterials and bioenergy production and sustainable conversion of biowastes. The project is led by ENEA (Italy) and TERI (India), and the consortium is composed of 7 European and 6 Indian partners and 1 European subcontractor.
The main activities of the SAHYOG project include inventories for biomass and biowaste resources, research projects and programmes, project twinning, short-term exchanges of researchers, summer schools, stakeholder workshops, as well as the development of roadmaps defining key RTD priorities and a Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) to facilitate concerted planning of future EU-India research initiatives in the area of biomass and biowaste.
One of the major targets of SAHYOG is to define a joint EU-India VISION on the bio-economy, and to develop a Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) specifying the common R&D needs that are essential to fuel the bio-economy in both regions. The SRA covers all domains relevant to the bio-economy, going from the availability and efficient/sustainable production of the feedstock, the valorisation of waste in a closed circular economy, the biorefineries needed to transform these feedstock into a broad range of products (fuel, feed, materials), as well as market and policy-oriented issues.

In order to further select the key-research themes, we have prepared this survey which has been sent to a broad range of stakeholders. Based on their opinion, we will select the key-recommendations that will be proposed to the European Commission and DBT as research recommendations for the EU-India collaboration in the field of bio-economy.
